Visiting Professor Programs
Visiting Professor Programs
Medical Imaging Partnership invites qualified imaging professionals from North America and other developed countries to participate in a unique Visiting Professor Program that is designed to train and educate physicians in resource-poor countries on the latest advances in medical imaging technology, diagnosis and treatment. Our ultimate goal is simple: to provide poor countries with the diagnostic imaging resources they need to address patient needs and improve health outcomes.
Under the Visiting Professor Program, MIP will sponsor two teams of highly qualified – and specialized – medical imaging professionals from anywhere in the developed world (2 physicians per team) to three resource-poor countries every year. The MIP visiting professors will stay in the host country for 1-2 weeks. During this time, they will participate in national and local radiology meetings, and teach at local and peripheral hospitals and clinics. They will deliver clinical lectures and workshops as per their designated areas of expertise and training.
MIP will cover the travel expenses for the visiting professors. The local host society will be responsible for their accommodation and hospitality for the entire length of their visit.
Radiology societies in resource-poor countries are invited to take advantage of the MIP Visiting Professor Program and request qualified visiting professors from the US and other developed nations to help educate and train local physicians, nurses and sonographers. But we ask that you apply to MIP well in advance.
MIP will match specific medical imaging education and training requirements, as listed in your MIP application, with appropriately qualified visiting professors for your region.
